In the sci-fi movie Blade Runner, the leader of the murderous escaped replicants (Roy Batty) gains access to Dr. Tyrell's apartment by feeding his hostage (J. F. Sebastian) winning moves for an ongoing chess match which Sebastian relays through the outside intercom system.
